Perennial: Deer & rabbit resistant. Heat tolerant. Flowers from spring to hard frost. Prefers full sun & moist well-drained to dry soil. Loved by hummingbirds, butterflies & bees. Seedling found amongst greggii, microphylla & Salvia x 'Mesa Azure', so we are not sure of the parentage. Named after the founder of emerisa gardens' wife. Blm color: bubble gum pk w/lighter bottom edge. Size: 18-24" x 14-16". Water: mod. Exp.: sun. Z7.

Bicolor Szechuan Sage

Perennial: Deer resistant. Collected in the mountains of Szechuan, China & cataloged by the University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley. A halo of velvety hairs surrounds the 1" long flowers, which have a purple upper lip & a yellow lower lip spotted & striped w/purple. Blm time: summer-fall. Height: 24-48" (w/flower). Width: 36". Does well in damp locations. Cold-hardy & adapted to shade, can grow where other Salvias can't. USDA Z5. (Doesn't have a scientific name)
