Scouring Rush, Dutch Rush

Rush-like Perennial: Deer resistant. Clay & bog tolerant. Plants grow well in west areas or shallow water. The grayish green foliage can be used in arrangements. Spreads by rhizomes to form a large scale ground cover. Contain if you do not want plant to spread. Bloom time: summer-fall. Height: around 6'. Exposure: sun/part shade. Water: moist. USDA Z4.

Perennial: Deciduous. Drought tolerant. CA native often found in dry, sloping areas. A warm season, mid-sized bunchgrass w/long, narrow leaf blades. Tuft forming. The airy seed heads are diffusely branched w/many small spikelets creating a light & almost transparent texture. Moderately fast grower & long-lived. Use for meadows or as a garden accent. Good grazing for livestock. Blm time: spring. Blm color: pink-purple. Ht: 1-3'.
