Heirloom-Created in 1925, it is a legendary heirloom variety rediscovered in Macon, Missouri. The rind is purple/black to dk green w/many small, yellow circles (stars) and one or two large, yellow circles (moons). The foliage is also spotted. It is very sweet w/pink or red flesh w/brown seeds. The fruits average 20 but can grow up to 50 pounds. The rinds are thick and can be pickled. Plant in sun. (Maturity: 90 days).
