Perennial: Deer resistant. Native to Mexico. Great culinary use. The leaves have an anise-like flavor that serves as a substitute for French tarragon in hot, humid climates. In Mexico, it is traditionally used as a tea to calm stomachs & relax nerves. Also used as a flavoring for soups, sauces & poultry dishes. Good border or container plant. Attracts butterflies. Bloom time: summer-fall. Bloom color: golden yellow. Height: 2'. Exposure: sun/part shade. Water: moderate. USDA Z8-11.
